Councilor’s token (vroedschap medal) of the city of Haarlem

Obverse: Seated female figure holding a closed book and touching her lips (allegory of discretion or wisdom), with the inscription “COMES CONSILIORUM”. On the pedestal: Haarlem’s coat of arms and “VICIVM VIRTUS”. Below: “HARLEM”.

Reverse: Standing Minerva with helmet, sword and shield, representing the city, surrounded by symbols of trade and industry. Inscription: “ARTE ET MARTE”. Below: “DAM CAPT TYP INV / URB DEFENS”.
