Obverse: Right-facing bust of Frederik VII – King of Denmark, with the inscription “FREDERIK VII KONGE AF DANMARK”. Below the portrait the engraver’s signature “A.C. PAES OUDORF”.

Reverse: Inscription “FOR DEELTAGELSE I KRIGEN 1848–1850” within a beaded border, translating to: For participation in the war 1848–1850. The text refers to the First Schleswig War, fought between Denmark and the German Confederation over the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein during the reign of Frederik VII.
