This is a Kronentaler of King Wilhelm I of Wurttemberg (1816-1864). 1837 - the LAST year of the traditional Wurttemberg Kronentaler production. After Munich Coin Treaty of 1837 the new standardized southern German gulden system replaced the traditional Habsburg denomination. Choice Mint State coin! Sharply struck and highly lustrous, with attractive pale silver champagne toning. Considerable mint brilliance remains evident when rotated under light - full cartwheel luster especially on reverse. Scattered fine handling marks as well as die imperfection on revers are consistent with assigned grade, while the principal devices remain unusually clean and sharply rendered. Great and handsome, high-end example of the final year 1837 Kronentaler, with notably strong eye appeal for PCGS MS 63 grade. Great collectible and Investment find!!!
