PCGS MS 62. TOP POP for PCGS.

We are offering another RARE and interesting taler of Christian Ernst of Stolberg- Wernigerode (1710-1771). 1760 - Commemorative and ONE-YEAR only issue for the 50th Anniversary of the Reign. Zellerfeld Mint, Mintmaster Johann Benjamin Hecht (IBH). Beautiful medallic design with a smoking ceremonial altar on reverse with a garland around it, while Wernigerode and its castle appears in the mountainous landscape behind it. Exceptional degree of preservation for this commemorative coin with strong portrait and architecture details, substantial underlying mint luster and attractive old dark-gray cabinet patina. Minor scattered handling marks and localized striking irregularities probably determine the grade - MS 62 by PCGS - still top PCGS population and one of the finest graded in general!
