This medal, produced in 1923 by Eduard Telcs (obverse) and J.J. van Goor (reverse) for Koniklijke Begeer in the Netherlands, was made in support of the victims of the September first earthquake in Japan. The Great Kantō earthquake of 1923 is one of the greatest natural disasters in Japan to this date; a 40 foot high tsunami ensuring a disastrous 140.000 casualties. This medal was produced in support of the victims; proceeds would be used to aid those in need!
