The 2000 tenge banknote from Kazakhstan, issued in 2024, features a complex and multicolored design. The front of the banknote is dominated by shades of green, blue, and purple. It features a profile representation of an antelope's head, accompanied by an ornament whose meaning is not specified. A notable detail is the presence of an element inspired by the headdress of the "Golden Man" discovered in the Issyk kurgan burial mound, dating from the 3rd or 4th century BC, representing a sacred branch with a hovering bird. A DNA spiral and the national emblem of Kazakhstan complete the design of the obverse. The text is in Kazakh.
The reverse of the banknote uses the same dominant colors, green, blue, and purple, and also features text in Kazakh. The main motif consists of hills and a lake, integrated into an infinite ornament. A stylized golden ornament representing a Saiga antelope is also present, along with a representation of four Saiga antelopes (Saiga tatarica) standing. A Kazakh circular symbol is included in the design. The banknote has a windowed security thread with demetalized text.
The banknote's watermark features a Samruk bird, accompanied by the "2000" electrotype. The banknote is printed by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and measures 135 mm long by 70 mm wide.
