The front of the banknote features a central Dharma Chakra, adorned with DeyNga, symbolizing the offering of sensory pleasure. On each side of the Dharma Chakra, there is a Bja Tshering, a mythical bird renowned for bringing long life.

The back of the banknote depicts the Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger's Nest, a sacred Vajrayana Buddhist site located in the Paro Valley, Bhutan. This monastery is one of the thirteen Tiger's Nest caves where Padmasambhava, or Guru Rinpoche, practiced and taught Vajrayana.

The inscriptions on the banknote are written in Latin and Tibetan. It reads "ROYAL MONETARY AUTHORITY OF BHUTAN" and "FIVE NGULTRUM". The Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliffside, is an important pilgrimage site and a symbol of Buddhist spirituality in the Himalayan region.
