The ancient Roman theatre in Amman, Jordan, forms a remarkable archaeological site, along with the neighbouring Odeon. It is thought to have been built between 138 and 161 AD by the Emperor Antoninus the Pious and is the largest in Jordan, seating 6,000.
Situated behind the site of the ancient forum, it backs onto a hillside and is still used for shows.
