Netherlands BU Set 2024
Special series "King's Visit to the Mint"
Contains 8 coins from 1 cent to 2 euros dated 2024 with the Dutch Mint Master mark and a medal.
Mintage: 2,500 copies.
An important visit to the Royal Dutch Mint took place on January 22, 2014. The King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander in person, visited Utrecht. He gave the signal to start minting the brand new euro coins with his effigy. In 2013, he was officially crowned King of the Netherlands, which also means that the euro coins must bear his image. The new coins were put into circulation from January 2014.
The 2024 themed set is again presented in special packaging that evokes the 10 years of euro coins with the effigy of King Willem-Alexander. The packaging also contains additional information about the entire process, from the design to the circulation of the coins.
In addition to all Dutch euro coins from 2024, the themed set also contains a special medal, designed for this particular event that occurred ten years ago. The obverse features a striking design, with the number 10 in the center. The reverse of the medal shows two euro coins, with the image of the King on the front and the image of the former Queen Beatrix on the back. This indicates the transition of the images on the Dutch euro coins.
