This 20 Rupee banknote, issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka in 2015, is part of the series commemorating the development and prosperity of Sri Lankan dancers.

The front of the banknote features a view of the Port of Colombo, an important economic element for Sri Lanka.

The back of the banknote highlights the country's cultural richness through the depiction of a Ves Netuma dancer. She is depicted in her traditional costume, composed of 64 distinct ornaments. A Geta Bera drum, a Kandy instrument traditionally used in dances, accompanies the dancer. In the upper right, there is a guard stone adorned with a "Punkalasa" (pot of abundance) and a unique floral motif called "Liya Vela". The inscription "CENTRAL BANK OF SRI LANKA" and the face value "TWENTY RUPEES" are also present.

The banknote incorporates a watermark representing a Serendib Scops Owl (Otus thilohoffmanni), an endemic bird species of Sri Lanka, as well as an electrotype "20". Cornerstone watermarks are also included as security features.

Printed by De La Rue, this banknote measures 128 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
