This Peruvian banknote, with a face value of 5 soles de oro, was issued in 1956 by the Banco Central de Reserva del Perú. It belongs to the J27 series.
The front of the banknote is printed in green on a light blue plain background. In the center is a representation of Liberty seated, holding a shield and a staff. The serial number of the banknote is printed in the upper left and upper right corners. The inscription "EL BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERÚ PAGARÁ AL PORTADOR CINCO SOLES DE ORO DE ACUERDO COM LA LEY Nº 10535" is also present, accompanied by the date of issue: "LIMA, 22 DE MARZO DE 156".
The back of the banknote is printed in green. It features the national coat of arms of Peru in the center. The inscription "BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU CINCO SOLES DE ORO" is also found there.
This banknote was printed by Thomas de la Rue & Co. in London. Its dimensions are 142 mm in length and 67 mm in width.
