In 1579 zorgde de Unie van Utrecht voor de grondlegging van Nederland.
In 1979 was dit 400 jaar geleden, ter gelegenheid daarvan is de eerste nikkelen herdenkingsmunt van ons land geslagen.
De Unie Rijksdaalder in het teken van 400 jaar Unie van Utrecht. Op de voorzijde staat een portret van de toenmalige koningin Juliana, op de keerzijde staat de tekst ‘GRONDSLAG VAN DE NEDERLANDSE STAAT, UNIE VAN UTRECHT 1579’.
Deze historische munt verschijnt nu opnieuw bij de Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt als historische uitgifte in coincard.
Deze originele Unie van Utrecht Rijksdaalder uit 1979 is onderdeel van de officiële Coincard Catalogus.
