Marriage of Albrecht Friedrich Heinrich, Prince of Prussia, and Louisa Marianne, Princess of the Netherlands, at The Hague on 14 September 1830.
Obverse: The winged marriage god Hymen holding a burning nuptial torch in his right hand and a wreath in his outstretched left hand. He stands upon a pedestal against which the coats of arms of Prussia and the Netherlands are placed. Signed below “D. V. D. KELLEN F.”
Reverse: Within a wreath of roses, the inscription “FRED. HENR. ALB. / PRINC. BORUSS. ET / WILH. FRED. LOUIS. / MARIAMNA BELG. / REGIA PROLE / FELICISS. CONNUB. IUNCTIS / HAG. COM. / XIV SEPT. – MDCCCXXX.” Translation: “Friedrich Heinrich Albrecht, Prince of Prussia, and Wilhelmina Frederica Louisa Marianne, offspring of the Dutch royal house, united in a most fortunate marriage. The Hague, 14 September 1830.”
Dirks observes that David van der Kellen could not have foreseen the unhappy course of the marriage; otherwise, he would have omitted the words “united in a most fortunate marriage.” The marriage was dissolved in 1849.
