General Services Administration (G.S.A.) Hoard. These coins were discovered by a Treasury audit in 1964, after nearly a century of obscurity in the vaults.
This hoard represents 962,638 coins from the original mintage figure of 1,136,000.
These coins were subsequently offered for sale to the general public.
