As carriers of culture and means of communication, coins function as a kind of time capsules. The Netherlands' annual sets from 2024 are therefore linked to this year's (inter)national and personal milestones. From 2022 to 2025, the National Collection® Annual Sets are dedicated to the four elements: earth, water, air and fire. In nature, these elements are linked to the seasons that determine our annual rhythm. In 2022 we begin the series with the Earth element and in 2024 we continue with the 'Air' element.
